Movies and FRESH food

Hey Forklifters!

This Sunday, July 15th at the Hyattsville location of Busboys & Poets, there will be a free screening of the documentary FRESH. (Check out freshthemovie.com for more information on the documentary that highlights the grassroots, slow-food movement.) Busboys & Poets is partnering with The Big Bad Woof, Inc. to bring you the screening and a ‘panel of food revolutionaries’ afterwards. Click here for more information.

Sunday’s screening is part of a bigger event that the local, D.C food campaign, Eat Local First, is hosting from July 14-21, “Eat Local first week.” There will be garden-tours, block parties, cocktail hours, panels, and more…all types of events that are going to be fun and informative! (It doesn’t hurt that many of the events include food, drinks, and music!) This is going to be a great week for any of you locavores or for you folks who are looking to have some fun next week. Some events are free, while others cost up to $25. Check out eatlocalfirstdc.com to find out more about specific events and information on the Eat Local First campaign.
